Police seek escaped prisoner

Manukau police are appealing for public assistance in locating a prisoner who escaped from Manukau District Court yesterday at around 5.00pm.

The prisoner's name is Joshua Mason Kite, aged 24 years.

Kite is required to be on remand at Auckland Central Remand Prison. He is currently on active charges for three counts of Aggravated Robbery involving a firearm, and Possession of a firearm.

Kite has links to the South Auckland area and Panmure, as well as links in the Gisborne area.

Solid build

Approx 180cm.

Has a large tribal tattoo on his left arm and a lion on his right upper arm

Small moustache/goatee

He was last seen wearing a white American football shirt with numbers on the front, black shorts and a black windbreaker.
