Nelson table tennis coach charged with sex offences

Nelson man Bryan Keane has been charged with two sex offences which relate to separate historical incidents, one of which occurred on or about 1987 and the other in 1997/98.

Keane did not apply for name suppression when he appeared in the Nelson District Court on Tuesday 17 May.

He is currently on court-imposed bail awaiting a further appearance on 10 June 2011.

Keane was charged on Friday 13 May with Indecent Assault on a Male and Unlawful Sexual Connection.

The victims were both teenagers.

Nelson Police said today their inquiries are not complete and they would like to hear from anyone who has information relating to Keane.
