A 22 year-old female and 29 year-old male appeared in Manukau District Court today on charges relating to a dead baby that was found buried at an Otahuhu address yesterday.
The female did not enter a plea, was bailed and will be reappearing at Court on 24 June 2011.
The male did not enter a plea, was bailed and will be reappearing at Court on 29 June 2011.
Police uncovered the young baby boy, believed to have been born on or about 26 May 2011.
A post-mortem examination is being carried out this afternoon but it is likely to be several weeks before it is known exactly how the baby died.
A team of about 20 Police and forensic staff are at the Otahuhu address completing a scene examination.
