Emotive appeal by family of missing man

1 min read

The mother of missing man, Brett Hall, made an emotive appeal for information about his disappearance at a media conference this afternoon.

Lee Hall, from Palmerston North, told how her "heart lurched" when she first heard that her son was missing. She told the media: "Not knowing where he is is doing my head in. I can't think straight, I don't sleep well at night."

Mrs Hall fronted the media conference with her grandson, Brett Hall's only child, Damian Hall (23) from Whanganui.

She described Brett as quite a private person, but a man who is family orientated and idolised his two young grandchildren. He has a love of the outdoors, particularly hunting and fishing and is extremely fit.

It had been his dream to buy some land in Whanganui and build a home so he was "thrilled" when he bought the section off the River Road and that has been his focus for about the last year.

During an emotive appeal Mrs Hall said: "If you've spoken to him please come forward and speak to the Police. His family needs to know where he is. Not knowing is tearing us all apart.

"No matter how trivial it might seem to you please, please come forward because if the Police think it's trivial they can put it aside, but if it means something it may help in finding him."

Anyone with information relevant to this investigation is asked to contact Whanganui Police on 06 349 0600. Alternatively information can be provided anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
