Police investigating the gunpoint aggravated robbery of an eastern Hamilton store said they have received good feedback from the public but were yet to hear from a key witness.

Detective Sergeant Neville Ross of the Hamilton CIB said officers had spoken to a number of people in connection to yesterday's robbery of the Manhattan Pricecutter on Grey St, Hamilton East.

"We've been following up a number of leads however we're really keen to speak to a woman seen on security camera footage outside the store at the time of the robbery, about 9.30am.

"The woman is seen on security footage wearing light blue jeans and a woollen cardigan and carrying a plastic shopping bag, if you think this may have been you we would like to speak to you and ask that you contact Hamilton Police on 07 858 6200."

Mr Ross said while the inquiry team would prefer to speak to people with information on the robbery in person members of the public could also leave information anonymously by phoning Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
