Inquiries continue into Levin stabbing

1 min read

A second person sought in relation to yesterday’s stabbing incident near Levin is still to be found.

Detective Sergeant Sarn Paroli, Horowhenua CIB, said police are continuing to follow up information about the man who they believe was also present at the house when the incident took place.

A 41-year-old Levin woman has been charged with assault. She appeared in the Levin District Court yesterday and has been remanded in custody until 19 July.

The victim, a 34-year-old Foxton man, had further surgery last night and is today in a stable condition in Palmerston North Hospital’s intensive care unit.

“We have finished with our scene examination at the house but still have a lot of inquiries to make to get a better picture of what happened and why,” Detective Sergeant Paroli said.

“We expect it will be several days before the victim is well enough to speak with us.”
