Police need complainants for incidents over weekend

1 min read

On Friday 23/03/07 at about 12.30am Police attended an assault in City Mall, High Street. There were two large groups arguing under the 'over bridge' on High Street.

A male victim was punched in the face and was bleeding heavily from the nose.

Police engaged in a short foot pursuit and eventually located, arrested and charged the offender.

On running past the victim the officer asked him to wait there so that he could get his details after locating the offender.

"I have been told by a few passers-by that he got into a taxi and left the scene after we ran past him," says Constable Aaron Campbell. "As of yet the victim's details are unknown."

Could this male, who is described as a Caucasian male aged 19 years old, please contact Constable Aaron Campbell, Central 2, Christchurch.

Theft ex cars

Police locked up a car load of 17 year olds who have been committing theft ex cars in the central city, Sumner and Lyttelton areas. They have admitted to breaking in to 4 vehicles, two in Lyttelton and one in each of the other two areas.

Police have removed over 100 exhibits from the vehicle they were in and are seeking complaints.

"If your car in one of those areas was broken in to please contact Police as only two of the four vehicle owners have contacted us," asks Constable Steve Sibley. "We do not know how many other cars have been broken into and the owners not yet reported the damage.

"Please contact the Police telephone reporting centre, 363 7400 and leave your contact details," asks Constable Sibley, Group 4.
