Chemicals and equipment used in the manufacture of methamphetamine have been found in search warrants executed on residential properties in Otara and Manurewa yesterday.

Counties Manukau Police with help from the Auckland Armed Offenders Squad searched four properties on warrants under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

Detective Senior Sergeant Andrew Alexander said clan labs were found at three of the properties and were examined by specialists from the police clan lab team and ESR. Equipment used in the manufacture of meth along with chemicals and a small quantity of methamphetamine were found at three addresses.

Occupants found at the four houses are being spoken to by police.

Detective Senior Sergeant Alexander encourages landlords and property managers to be vigilant about suspicious activity by tenants and to report any concerns they have to their local police station.

“Everyone has a role to play in helping disrupt drug activity and organised crime in communities. Tell us about your concerns, or you can provide information anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111,” he said.
