1 min read

Northland Police have charged a 42-year-old male with manslaughter following the death of 61-year-old Dargaville man Christopher Edwards, at Auckland Hospital on the 13th January 2012.

Police began an assault investigation after Mr Edwards had been admitted to hospital with an unexplained life threatening head injury. They later upgraded it to a homicide investigation following Mr Edwards death a few days later.

Northland Manager Criminal Investigations Detective Inspector Karyn Malthus says that the 42-year-old man will be appearing in the Dargaville District Court today to face the manslaughter charge.

Ms Malthus further advises that Police will not make any further comments in this matter as it is now before the courts.
