1 min read

At about 1.20pm on Monday May 7, two Indian males were involved in a motor vehicle accident on State Highway Two, approximately three kilometres south of Maramarua township.

Both men died at the scene.

Police are now trying to locate a blue truck and trailer unit that may have had a tyre blow out near the scene of the crash.

The truck and trailer unit is described as blue in colour, and was used for transporting old mufflers and steel piping , possibly for recycling purposes.

It was seen parked near the Caltex Service Station opposite the Castle Cafe at Maungatawhiri at approximately 1.30pm.

Anyone with information in relation to this truck or the crash are asked to contact Constable Dale at Waikato Highway Base on 07 850 7050.
