1 min read

Auckland City District's Adult Sexual Assault Team this morning arrested a second man in connection with Operation Belfast, the investigation into historical sexual offences against at least six members of a family from 1968 until recently.

The man, a 73 year-old Oakura [Taranaki] resident, will appear in the New Plymouth District Court this afternoon where he will face three charges of indecent assault on a boy under 16, two charges of an indecent act on a boy under 16 and one charge of inducing an indecent act on a boy under 16.

The charges relate to two victims and are alleged to have occurred in Auckland in the mid 1970s.

Further charges are likely to be laid against the Taranaki man when he will appear with the other accused - a 69 year-old Hillsborough man - in the Auckland District Court on June 22.
