'Missing' man charged with wasting police time

A man reported missing from Hawkes Bay last Saturday will appear in the Wellington District Court tomorrow morning, Thursday 4 October, charged with wasting police time.

Cameron Edward Charles Dormer, 25, from Hawkes Bay was found by police at a central Wellington motor inn shortly before 6pm tonight.

Detective Sergeant Donna Howard, Wellington CIB, said Dormer is being held in custody overnight and will appear in the Wellington District Court tomorrow charged with wasting police time, and possession of cannabis.

Wellington CIB has been liaising with police in Hastings who maintain overall responsibility for the investigation. Mr Dormer's family has been advised.

No further comment is available tonight.
