A 29-year-old man is dead after a vehicle crash last night on the Waikato Stream Bridge, just north of the summit, Waiouru.
Taihape Police responded to the crash which happened just before 10pm. A north bound Toyota vehicle crossed the centreline and collided with a south bound Mitsubishi vehicle.
Police believe there were no other passengers in the vehicles involved in the crash.
Initial indications suggest that speed is a factor in the crash.
Police will not release the name or any other details about the man until next of kin has been informed.
