A second man has now died following a house fire in Tokoroa on Tuesday evening.
The fire occurred in Dalmeny Street at approximately 6.45pm.
Lance Allen Aislabie, aged 57, died at the house. Adrian Robin Glenie, aged 47, was initially taken to Waikato Hospital with serious burns and later transferred to Middlemore Hospital. Despite surgery he died overnight. The two men were residing at the address where the fire occurred.
Post mortems on both men will take place later today.
Police and Fire have returned to the address this morning to continue with an examination of the scene to establish whether or not the fire is suspicious. That examination is expected to continue until tomorrow.
