The body of missing Ashburton hunter, Corey FOSTER, has been positively identified after being recovered from the Avoca Valley, near Lake Coleridge last week.

Corey, aged 24 years when he went missing, was lost during a hunting trip in June last year. He was last seen by his fiancée on 4 June 2007.

His body was not located until last week, by a local helicopter pilot. Christchurch Search and Rescue brought his body out on 28 March 2008.

Corey's family have been notified.

During the search over 20 searchers plus police dogs were in the field assisted by the Defence Force Iroquois in the aerial searches and transporting teams to different locations.
