Man Missing In West Auckland

West Auckland Police are appealing to the public for any sightings of a 39 year old man who is considered to be missing after not being seen or heard from for a week.

CURRIE/Peter James - was last seen on Sunday 4 May 2008. It was early in the evening when a family member saw him leaving from his Massey home to go to work. Mr. Currie is a machine operator and regularly works night shifts. However he has not been attending at his work in the past week and has not contacted his employers.

Detective Nicholas DAVENPORT of Waitakere CIU says Mr. CURRIE made an ATM cash withdrawal from a bank in West Auckland, at 5.00pm on Monday 5 May 2008 before then driving off in a motor vehicle. There've been no further sightings since this time.

"Mr. Currie's disappearance is described by his family as completely out of character. Our concerns for his safety and well being are mounting. Routine enquiries are continuing throughout Auckland in an effort to locate this man."

Police have issued a description of the missing man.

Male - Caucasian - DOB 18/06/1968 - Aged 39 years

Occupation - machine worker

Slim build - 160 cm tall, clean shaven, wears glasses, has a pale complexion possibly caused by an inadequate diet. Clothing not known

"Mr. CURRIE may be in possession of a Grey two tone 1990 Nissan Prairie motor vehicle. Registration Plate YW2475. This vehicle is in poor condition. It has white paint marks down the left rear side. Anyone who has sighted this vehicle or has information on the whereabouts of this missing man Peter James CURRIE, is requested to call the Henderson CIU on 09 839 0728," Detective DAVENPORT said.
