Tauranga Man Charged With Manslaughter

A man has appeared in the Tauranga District Court today on two charges of manslaughter, and one charge of dangerous driving causing injury. No plea has been entered.

The 25 year old Caucasian male whose name has been suppressed has been remanded on bail to appear in the Manukau District Court Tuesday 1 July 2008.

The Serious Crash Unit has been carrying out a lengthy investigation into the cause and circumstances of a double fatality car crash on George Bolt Memorial Drive on 12 December 2007.

A Korean female from Auckland and a male from Papamoa in the Bay of Plenty both died in the crash.
