Elderly Man Missing In West Auckland

Henderson Police are searching for an elderly Samoan man who has not been sighted since late yesterday morning. Police say the 71 year old man was reported missing by his wife at 0600 hours today. There are concerns for his whereabouts.

SEFO/Ioane was last seen by his wife at about 11.00am on Tuesday 3 June 2008 while leaving his Te Atatu Peninsula home on his blue bicycle. He did not return home last night.

Eagle has been deployed throughout the morning and a Search and Rescue team is now in the Te Atatu area looking for the man. The suburban locale and mangroves are being canvassed. Mr SEFO has a medical history. He has previously gone missing.

Police have issued a description of the man they are seeking:

SEFO / Ioane

Male - Samoan

Height - 169 cm tall.

Age 71 years - DOB 11/06/1936

Has a variety of tattoos on his arms and torso

Clothing - wearing brown pants, blue jacket and possibly a blue bike helmet. He's is possibly in possession of a blue bicycle.
