1 min read

Henderson Police have released images of the backpack and a cell phone stolen from a 15 year old female student last week. The student was sexually assaulted in her home by a man posing as a truancy officer.

Police are seeking a short, stocky Maori or Polynesian male aged about 40 years. He should have several scratches around his neck. The man has approached the teenage victim while she was walking along Hobsonville Road between 12.30pm and 1.00pm on Tuesday 11 November 2008.

The man invited the victim into his car on the pretence he could check she was not wagging school. He then drove her to her home and subsequently assaulted her. The man was driving a white station wagon which had a tidy, light grey interior.

Detective Sergeant Steve Salton of the Henderson CIB says police have released images of the student's backpack and the cell phone in the hope that members of the public may have seen them.

We've received a lot of good information from the public. We hope someone will be able to tell us where these two items are. They are of considerable importance to our ongoing enquiries," Detective Sergeant Steve Salton said.

Description of items:
