Service station robbery

On Sunday evening 16 November, a man robbed the Caltex service station on Cranford St.

At about 8.50pm the sole worker was approached by the male who walked directly up to the counter, demanded money and threatened him with a gun.

After grabbing a sum on money the offender then left the service area.

The offender is described by the victim as:  • Male  • Polynesian or Maori   • Stocky - large build but not fat  • over 6' tall   • Black hair  • Slight stubble

he was wearing:  • Plain blue beanie  • Large navy coat (hooded) with white stripe on rear of hood (in the middle running vertically), has two pockets on the chest and two on the side  • Blue mechanic type overalls - reasonably clean  • Black lace up work type boots - possibly steel capped  • No gloves
