Prison Inmates Arrested For Murder

Five inmates at Auckland Prison have been arrested and charged with murder after a month long investigation at the prison by police.

Another inmate has been charged with being an accessory after the fact to murder. North Shore CIB and uniform staff affected the inmates'arrests today.

All six men are aged between 19 and 28 years of age.

Detectives began their lengthy investigation into the death of a 23 year old, Samoan born, prison inmate, Tue FAAVAE, after his body was discovered inside an East Wing cell block in the prison at 11.00am, Sunday 1 March 2009.

The six inmates will appear in the North Shore District Court tomorrow.
