Stabbing In West Auckland

West Auckland Police are investigating an incident in the suburb of Massey in which a 20 year old man has been stabbed. His condition is said to be critical.

Police say at about midnight Thursday 2 April 2009 a Maori male was transported to Auckland Hospital by ambulance. The victim has serious stomach wounds after being stabbed twice with a knife. The injuries were received in an altercation with another male.

All persons who were at a party at a Holmes Drive, Massey address last night are being spoken to. Several witnesses have given statements to police. A cordon has been in place at the residential address overnight and police are at the scene this morning to continue their routine investigations.

Police say enquiries are progressing well. They urge anyone with information about the stabbing to contact the Henderson CIB immediately on 09 839 0600.
