Police seek sightings of car of missing woman

Police on both sides of the South Island are looking for a woman who left Christchurch yesterday morning to drive to Greymouth but has not yet arrived.

Alison McDonald aged 62 left Christchurch at 7.45am on Friday and was expected at home in Greymouth between 11-12 noon but has not been seen since. She was driving a blue Corolla Tiara hatchback reg CYH 390.

Sergeant Craig Prior of Canterbury Search and Rescue, says that police on both sides of the island have driven the route and there has been an aerial search from Porters Pass to the West Coast however there is no sign of Mrs McDonald. They are currently conducting a roadside search on foot on the west coast side. Anyone who may have seen Mrs McDonald driving or has any idea where she might be is asked to contact their nearest police.
