Female Fugitive Arrested

1 min read

A female fugitive wanted by police has been arrested in West Auckland.

Linda Cherie PHILLIPS was an occupant in a stolen vehicle that was abandoned in the mudflats at Beachhaven two weeks ago. The vehicle and its four occupants were involved in an early morning incident in Takapuna in which a Constable was run down by the speeding car during a police pursuit.

PHILLIPS was arrested in West Auckland yesterday. She will appear in the North Shore District Court this morning on three burglary charges and one charge of theft of a motor vehicle. Police are not ruling out further charges.

The three other occupants already arrested and charged will make another appearance in the North Shore District Court on 15 April 2009.

The 23 year old injured police officer is expected to return to work next week.
