1 min read

Police investigating Monday's aggravated assault of a man at his Waihi home while he dinner with his children arrested three people yesterday.

Detective Sergeant Glenn Tinsley of the Waihi CIB said the trio, a 42-year-old Waihi woman, her 24-year-old Auckland based son and a 17-year-old Waihi man were arrested in the town yesterday.

"They've been charged with burglary, assault, wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and assault to injure and were bailed to appear in the Waihi District Court next Tuesday.

"On the same day the trio appear in court the 50-year-old victim will undergo surgery for a broken jaw," said Mr Tinsley.

Police received good cooperation from Waihi residents during the search for the trio and Mr Tinsley said no one else was sought in relation to this matter.
