Two teenagers injured in apparent unprovoked attack

1 min read

Two teenagers were injured in an apparently unprovoked attack very early last Saturday morning.

About 2 am on Saturday 18 April 2009, the two young men aged 18 and 19 were walking along the Lincoln Road footpath where they were approached by a group of people who had been hanging around under the over bridge.

As the victims walked past the group they were surrounded by the group and threatened.

Both victims were allegedly hit about the head and kicked as they lay on the ground. Both lost consciousness and on regaining it found that they had had property taken.

The victims were helped by a passing motorist who called an ambulance and police.

Police are appealing for witnesses who saw the attack, as well as two females who had previously walked past this group.

Two males aged 15 and 17 years old have since been arrested. Further enquiries will be continuing as to whom the other members of the group are and what role they played in the attack before deciding if further charges will be laid.

Anyone with information on this group is asked to contact acting Detective Sergeant Dale FORMAN of the Hornby CIB, 03 3440683.
