1 min read

Hamilton Police are appealing for information from the public in relation to a bank robbery that took place in the City minutes ago.

Officers are currently converging on the suburb of Hamilton East after reports of a man entering the Westpac bank on the corner of Grey and Clyde Streets who passed over a note to a female teller demanding money about 10.10am.

Dressed in a bright orange 'road workers' jacket and wearing dark glasses the man is described as being light skinned, clean shaven and of slim build.

Leaving with an as yet unknown sum of cash the man was last seen on foot heading south on Grey St on the east side of the road.

Police want to hear from anyone who may have seen the man or who comes across any hi-visibility clothing dumped in the area.
