operation.burnside@police.govt.nz - note different email address

1 min read

The Operation Burnside team have a dedicated email address for anyone wishing to report anything in relation to the inquiry.

"operation.burnside@police.govt.nz is a good opportunity for people to report damage to property or anything else they think is relevant," says Detective Superintendent Brett Kane. "Many people have access to a computer and this saves time waiting for phones to be answered or messages to be replied to. It doesn't replace the phone but is another avenue for reporting."

The residents of Guildford Street were allowed to return home last night however Wadhurst Place is still closed as the forensic scene examination continues. The scene examination of the Mr Sime's house also continues today; both are expected to take at least until Friday.

"We are grateful to the residents for their patience and assistance," says Brett Kane. "We thank Community Watch volunteers for their assistance."

Community Watch is distributing 2200 leaflets throughout the area detailing how people can report damage to their property.
