Police are now able to confirm that the bus involved in the crash on State Highway 5 at Ohaaki is a ManaBus.com vehicle.
There were 64 passengers on board the bus in addition to the male driver and female attendant. It is understood that the female attendant suffered a minor injury. We have no further reports of injuries from the bus at this stage.
ManaBus.com has another bus on scene and a second en route to assist the affected passengers. The weather is poor with heavy rain and every effort is being made to keep passengers dry and to cater for any welfare needs.
Two other occupants from the car have been taken to hospital; no further details on their condition are available at this stage.
