Appeal for information after shots fired at Te Araroa Police Station

Police are appealing to the public for information after shots were fired in the vicinity of Te Araroa Police Station around 10.30pm on Thursday 2 August.

Police and AOS responded to the incident and the sole charge officer who was in the property at the time was unharmed. 

A Police vehicle that was parked near the property was damaged.

Police takes threats against our staff, such as this, incredibly seriously and support measures are in place to ensure the officer and his family’s wellbeing and safety.

Everyone has the right to feel safe at home and at work, including our staff, and Police are committed to holding those responsible to account. 

The investigation into the incident is ongoing and we would welcome any information from the public.

Police remain available and are continuing to deliver services to the people of Te Araroa and surrounding areas.
