Police are keen to hear from anyone who might have information about a mobility scooter stolen from an elderly person’s property sometime overnight between Friday 5 and Saturday 6 October.

The scooter, which is a white Nordic polar cruiser [pictured], was taken from a carport at a Glambourne Way, Judea property.

Senior Sergeant Eddie Lyttle of Tauranga Police says the scooter would have required significant effort to steal.

“The key was not taken with the scooter, so whoever took this would likely have had to lift and carry it away, and these are heavy vehicles.

“This scooter is this person’s only means of transport, so we are eager to reunite it with its rightful owner.

"Anyone who saw anything suspicious, or who may know anything about the item’s whereabouts or the people involved, is urged to get in touch.”

Anyone with information should get in touch with Tauranga Police on (07) 577 4300, or information can be given anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
