Arrest in Avonhead homicide investigation

Attribute to Detective Inspector Corrie Parnell:

Police have today arrested an 18-year-old woman in relation to the death of Alicia Nathan at an address on Avonhead Road, Christchurch on Saturday night.

She has been charged with murder and will appear in Christchurch District Court tomorrow.

Following a post-mortem and formal identification this morning, Police can now confirm the deceased was 32-year-old Alicia Nathan, also known as Alicia Robinson.

Police are continuing to offer support to her family and friends at this difficult time.

A number of scene examinations are underway at properties across the city in connection with the investigation and it’s anticipated that these will continue for the rest of the week.

Police would like to thank the public for their assistance and would still like to hear from anyone with information that may assist this investigation.
