1 min read

Following enquiries into this afternoon's kidnapping of a baby from a home in Hamilton, detectives working on the case have made an arrest.

Detective Senior Sergeant Ross Patterson of the Hamilton CIB said an 18-year-old woman was arrested in relation to the kidnapping of an eight-week-old from a Killarney Rd, Frankton address.

"That arrest followed an interview of the woman this afternoon at the Hamilton Central Police Station. She has been arrested on a charge of kidnapping and will appear in the Hamilton District Court tomorrow.

"We are not seeking anyone else in relation to this incident and would like to thank those members of the public who assisted us with our enquiries."
