1 min read

Nelson Police have located and arrested a man in relation to the burglary from the Red Cross Nelson Service Centre, Richmond.

A 12-seater transit van, a large amount of emergency equipment, hand-held radios, and generators were taken from the premises early in July.

Over the last week Police have executed several search warrants in the Nelson area in relation to the burglary.

Several items were recovered during these warrants, including an AED defibrillator machine.

A 41-year-old man appeared in the Nelson District Court facing burglary charges earlier today.

He is currently being held in custody until he is due to re-appear on Tuesday 22 August.

A number of the remaining items were also located earlier today, as well as tools belonging to a local construction company.

Enquiries are ongoing to locate the last of the items taken from the Red Cross Service Centre, and Police urge anyone who can assist with this to please contact their local Police Station.
