Arrest in relation to Christchurch bar assault

Christchurch Police have arrested a 25-year-old man in relation to a serious assault at an inner city bar on Sunday 30 June 2019.
 
The man will appear in Christchurch District Court this afternoon, charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
 
The victim remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.
 
Police are aware that there were a number of people who witnessed the alleged assault and we are asking them to make contact with us.
