Arrests made following Tauranga dairy robbery

1 min read

Police arrested a 25-year-old woman last night in relation to yesterday's aggravated robbery of the Viking Dairy in Grange Road, Tauranga.

The woman appeared in the Tauranga District Court this afternoon and has been remanded on bail.

A 27-year-old Tauranga man was arrested this afternoon in relation to the same incident and will appear in Tauranga District Court on Friday 12 August.

Detective Senior Sergeant Greg Turners says the quick arrests are a direct result of members of the public taking the time to note and record the registration number of a motor vehicle used in the offending.

"Local criminals need to take note of Western Bay of Plenty detectives' high batting average and quick resolution of recent aggravated robberies in Tauranga.  The message is simple - offend and we will catch you - and it is just not worth the jail time for what have been small amounts of cash and cigarettes."
