Tauranga Police are investigating after a 16 year-old female was assaulted by a man near the summit of Mount Maunganui yesterday afternoon.
The assault occurred at approximately 1.00pm on Thursday 1 September 2016.
The man is described as European, between 50-60 years-old, of medium build, about 5ft 11” tall, bald on the top of his head with grey hair around the sides and back of his head.
He is described as wearing a navy blue t-shirt with white patches on it, black sunglasses, and dark coloured ¾ shorts.
Police believe he would have left the area after the assault in a vehicle and are appealing for information to identify the man and his vehicle.
