Assault Victim Sought

At about 10.30pm on Tuesday 20th October 2015 a person was assaulted on the corner of Blenheim Road and Mandeville Street, Christchurch.

 

The victim, a male in his mid 20's, was set upon by two youths who punched the victim about the face numerous times.

 

A member of the public intervened causing the two offenders to ride off towards the central city.  The member of the public phoned the Police and followed the offenders until they were apprehended in Rolleston Ave.

 

Police are seeking to identify the victim who is described as a male Caucasian in his mid 20's, short dark hair, wearing a greenish coloured tshirt, long dark pants and a jersey tied around his waist.  If anyone is able to identify this person could they please contact Christchurch Police on 03 3637400.

 

The Christchurch Police would also like to thank the member of the public who intervened.  His actions probably saved the victim from serious injury and his phone call allowed the Police to quickly apprehend the youths responsible.

 

Two males, a 17 year old and 15 year old, appear in the Christchurch District Court today charged with assault with intent to injure.
