Burglaries in the Hawke's Bay - secure your premises

1 min read

It's only two days into the school holidays and the Hawke’s Bay has had four schools and youth facilities targeted by burglars.
Items taken are mostly electrical items such as cameras and laptops, which take time and cost money for schools to replace.

On each occasion damage has been caused to the premises which is also costly to fix.
Eastern Police urge schools to ensure any items of value are either removed from the school facilities or stored in a secure area, away from view.

The public can also help by being ever-vigilant in relation to anybody suspicious hanging around school grounds, especially during the hours of darkness.
If anyone does see anything suspicious they are encouraged to call Police immediately.
