Counties Manukau Police have seized more than 150 cannabis plants and over 250 ounces of cannabis head after two search warrants were conducted in Otahuhu.

A 52-year-old Otahuhu man has been arrested and charged with cultivating cannabis and possession of cannabis for supply but further charges are expected to be laid.

The drugs have an estimated street value of over $100,000.

Counties Manukau West Prevention Manager Senior Sergeant Chris Barry says the latest raid is part of continuing efforts by the Otahuhu Police to reduce drug-relating offending in the area and keep Counties Manukau a safe place to live.

“Police will take swift action and hold those offenders to account who try to spread harm through supplying and selling illicit drugs. We are committed to reducing the effects and availability of drugs in our community.” says Senior Sergeant Barry.

“Information from the public is vital to our success, and we are always keen to hear from anyone who has information about stolen property and drugs.  Anyone wanting to share information with Police can do so confidentially by contacting their local Police station, or by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
