Crash on State Highway 16

Police and other emergency services are currently on the scene of a crash on State Highway 16, near Brigham Creek Road. 

The information from the scene at this point in time is that a car with 3 children in the back has pulled out of a driveway near the crest of a hill and has collided with an oncoming car. 

Three children have been taken to Starship Hospital. Two are in a status 2 condition. Another child who is thought to be aged around 4 years old is in a status one condition, with serious life threatening injuries. 

The parents of the children have both been taken to North Shore Hospital. At this point their condition is not known.

The driver of the other vehicle is not believed to have been injured.

Traffic is slow but one lane is open.

the Waitemata Serious Crash Unit and multiple Police units are there.

No further information is available at this point and any further updates will be made as and when the information is confirmed.
