Police can confirm that a crash involving a cyclist occurred on SH6, 500 metres south of 1 Mile Line Road, near Aratuna this morning at around 6:45am.
The male cyclist is deceased and yet to be identified.
Any traffic travelling north or south on SH6 need to be aware that diversions are in place at Blue Spur Road and Arahura Valley Road.
Police Serious Crash Unit will be attending and the road will be closed until the investigation is complete.
More information will be released when it comes to hand.
