Dishonesty offending increase Invercargill area.

Over the past four to six weeks Police have noticed an increase in dishonesty offending in the Invercargill area.

In particular property is being stolen from private yards and insecure garden sheds, the items stolen include outdoor furniture, garden items.

Police would like to remind the public to ensure that garages, houses and vehicles are secured when left unattended, even if it is for only a short period of time.

Over this Christmas / New Year holiday period, residents should also inform their neighbours when they are away from home for any length of time and ensure that their properties are well secured.

Information can also be provided anonymously to the organisation Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
