Fatal crash - Edendale, Southland

One person has died following a crash near Edendale in Southland tonight. 
 
The crash occurred shortly before 9pm near the intersection of Homestead Road and Hilda Road. 
 
It does not appear that any other vehicle was involved. 
 
Another person in the car sustained serious injuries and has been transported to hospital by ambulance. 
 
The Serious Crash Unit has been notified.
