Fatal crash on State Highway 94

Police and emergency services are currently in attendance at a fatal crash on the Te Anau Mossburn Highway (State Highway 94).

The single vehicle crash occurred just before 8.30am this morning where it appears the car has rolled and hit a power pole.

As a result of the crash, one of the occupants has died. The other occupant was initially trapped in the vehicle, but has since been removed and is currently being attended to by ambulance staff.

Police serious crash unit will soon begin a serious crash investigation into the cause of the crash.

Diversions will be set up on Blackmount Redcliffe and Weir Roads, and motorists should expect some delays while emergency services attend the scene.
