A woman has died following a crash on SH6 in the Haast Pass this morning.
The crash was reported to Police shortly after 10am. A male occupant of the vehicle was not seriously injured in the crash.
At this stage it is believed to be a single vehicle crash, but due to the remote location of the incident all other details are yet to be confirmed and a serious crash investigation is under way.
Police ask the public to drive with extreme care in the area due to winter driving conditions in Westland.
