Five arrested on drugs charges

1 min read

Otago Lakes-Central Police have executed six drugs search warrants in the Queenstown, Alexandra and Wanaka areas over the last couple of days.

This has resulted in the arrest of five people on drugs-related charges, from supplying methamphetamine to possession of cannabis.

Two males and three females, aged from 21 years through to 46 years, have already appeared or will be appearing in the Queenstown and Alexandra District Courts in the near future.

Detective Senior Sergeant Malcolm Inglis says this is a great result for the region.

“These arrests will go a long way in preventing drugs from causing more harm to our communities.”

As this matter is now before the courts Police cannot comment further.
