Hamilton Police seek Good Samaritan following attack on jogger

Hamilton Police are seeking witnesses to a serious attack on a female jogger near the river.

Detective Sergeant Andrew Mortimore of Hamilton City CIB said this attack occurred on Wednesday 7th May at about 7.20pm on Grantham St between the Ferrybank Café and the Bridgewater Eye Clinic.

"The victim, a female jogger, was jogging down Grantham St on her own when a van blocked her path and one of the occupants attacked her.

"After a struggle, she was able to break free and run towards the boat ramp car-park."

Mr Mortimore said Police want to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time, in particular a man who offered assistance to the victim near his vehicle in the boat ramp car-park.

"This person is not a suspect but is key to assisting our enquiry."
