The Police Media Centre will remain operational from 6am to 11pm everyday throughout the holiday period, including Christmas Day.
As a result of reduced staffing levels in both Auckland and Wellington, the team will be prioritising urgent operational issues, public safety matters and major investigations.
While we may not always be able to facilitate routine calls and event checks, we will proactively release details of any significant events.
Please note that as Police National Headquarters is closed until Monday 9 January 2023, we may not be able to facilitate some interviews, with National Managers and senior staff on annual leave.
We will continue to have staff available to speak to local issues, however, please be mindful that they also have to balance operational demands.
