At around 7.50pm this evening Police were called to a residential address in Takahe Road, Titirangi.
Two people at the house have been victims of a serious assault. The body of a woman was found at the property, and a man from the house has been taken to Auckland City Hospital with life threatening injuries.
A short time later a man was taken into custody by Police and is now assisting with enquiries.
A homicide investigation has been launched and a scene guard will remain in place overnight.
No further comment will be made tonight.
